Mission of Deeds is a volunteer-supported nonprofit that gives new beds and gently used donated furniture, kitchen items, and basic household goods, free of charge, to people leaving homelessness and others in great need. They are pleased to announce their two newest Board Members, Amy Roy and Jason Ruel.

Roy is a Partner in the Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group of global law firm Ropes & Gray LLP based in Boston, where she has practiced for 16 years. A native of Maine, she today resides in Lynnfield, Massachusetts, with her husband and two children. “It has been an honor and privilege to join my fellow members on the Board of Mission of Deeds,” said Amy. “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with such a valuable and hugely necessary organization helping members of the surrounding communities.” In addition to Mission of Deeds, Amy serves as a Director on the Board of Greater Boston Legal Services and enjoys providing pro bono services as part of her legal practice.

Ruel is a Managing Partner at Northeast Investment Group out of Burlington, Mass. Before forming the Northeast Investment Group, Jason spent thirteen years as a financial advisor at Citizens Securities, Merrill Lynch, and Morgan Stanley. Prior to his career in the financial industry, Jason transitioned from software development to management consulting at Microsoft and Honeywell. Jason has long been involved in community service. He spent his earlier years volunteering at St. Frances House and Rosie’s Place, helping provide food and clothing to those in need. Jason also served on the board of directors of the not-for-profit organization Providence City Arts. “I am truly excited to be a part of Mission of Deeds as a member of the board,” said Jason. “There is a special connection with all of those involved in making sure families have the essential items. I am excited to see the organization grow and establish itself as a bedrock in the community.”

Chris Barrett, Board President, shared, “We are thrilled to welcome Amy Roy and Jason Ruel to the Mission of Deeds’ Board of Directors. They believe everyone deserves the dignity of a safe, comfortable, permanent home, and while an apartment is a crucial part of the equation, what goes inside is just as important. Their perspective and expertise are perfect fits for the Board.”
